Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith), Road House is a reimagining of the '80s cult classic starring Swayze as another brawler named Dalton, who will stop at nothing — even ripping out a man's throat — to protect Jasper, Mo.'s Double Deuce bar. After making a name for himself with ‘90s comedies like Swingers and Go (which featured Academy Award-winning screenwriter Sarah Polley in the lead role), Liman went on to cement his legacy as a great action director with The Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Edge of Tomorrow. This movie delivers a lot of the same kicks as the first, but with contemporary tuneups like a villain played by Conor McGregor, the Ultimate Fighting Championship star who’s first seen stark naked, except for shoes and socks (so he can carry his phone).
